Patterns of the Week
Sweet Tantalate

"This shawl is a deep crescent shape with a circular opening for the neck. The design allows it to be slipped over your shoulders like a cardigan, without needing to be held or pinned. It has enough stockinette to be a quick knit, while maintaining a shoulder-framing panel of lace. A bit of cashmere in the yarn provides a lovely drape. It's equally suitable for a dressy evening out or a sweet summer tea party."
Chompers

"Spring is a beautiful but also very messy time of year. Depending on the part of the country in which you live, you normally deal with thawing snow or lots of rainy days. Either way, you get mud. In an effort to keep toddlers in a somewhat presentable state, these knit pants fold up, hopefully out of the reach of the majority of splashing. You are on your own for keeping the top half clean!"
Rosalind

"This is the perfect little top for spring and summer: fun to knit and easy to wear. It's named after the heroine of Shakespeare's As You Like It, who dresses as a boy to escape from an evil duke and hides out in the forest of Arden. The play is full of lush natural imagery, and I've tried to capture some of that in the leafy motif that adorns this cardi."

Peggy Sue

" Knit in 100% wool, it's toasty, and the cardigan's fitted shape and short sleeves make it a perfect sweater to wear with a dress or strappy top for a night out. Alternatively you can layer it with a long-sleeve t-shirt underneath for daytime wear and to stay even warmer. Versatility is key! The design is vintage-flavoured and was inspired by the pin-up sweaters of the 1950s. As the cardigan is cropped, it's a fairly quick knit in a DK-weight yarn. "

Spring Leaves

"This pattern is basically a rectangular Version of "Gail (aka Nightsongs)" by Jane Araujo (MaweLucky), who kindly encouraged me to write my notes down and to make it available as a pattern.
Finished size ranges from a narrow scarf to a wide stole or even a blanket, depending on yarn choice and the number of pattern repeats worked."

Watching the Waves

"While on vacation in Mexico Beach, FL I was inspired to create a shawl to remind me of the waves. The result is a truncated crescent shaped shawl based on a ripple pattern.

The size is easily adjusted and instructions for this are included in the pattern. If worked as specified in the pattern the shawl is approximately 48 inches inside curve and 76 outside curve."

Viking Bag

"A good beginner's project in cable knitting, as this bag is both a small project, but also with quite a few cable stitches to try out.
The size of the bag is up to you. Use heavier yarn for bigger bag or thinner yarn for wee little purse."

Now in a minute

"Worked mostly in stockinette with a simple lace edging, the Now in a Minute shawl is remarkably easy to knit. For all that, the changing shape of the shawl, and the colour play between skeins mean there's always something new happening on your needles. The long gentle curve of the shawl means it stays on your shoulders, making it as easy to wear as it is to knit."

Dogwood
on Jana's Needles

"This darling baby blanket adds a sweet and romantic touch to any room. The bold graphic is as fresh as the spring and the new life that it brings."

Girasole
on Michelle C's Needles

A traditional circular lace shawl, worked in heavier yarn makes a unique home accent as a blanket, or, worked in fingering weight wool, an elegant and timeless piece of shetland lace.

This nice airy and lacy sweater is excellent for fingering weight yarn. Comes in sizes XS to XL. It's knitted top down and in the round. So versatile, you can wear it with shorts or a skirt! It's also seamless with a written pattern.
